Vocabulary Assignment


Exposition: The exposition is background information regarding the plot, characters, and setting of the story.

Setting:
Rising Action: The rising action is the process the story follows as it builds up to its main problem or resulting climax.

Events building up to the climax:



Climax: The climax is the part of the story at which the crisis comes to its point of greatest intensity and is resolved; the most exciting part of the story that is the emotional highpoint where every problem is solved.
Climax:
Falling Action: The falling action is after the climax where all of the loose ends of the story are tied up. The characters also are affected and changed because of the conflict being solved.

Characters change:
Resolution: The way the story turns out in the end -- either happily ever after or the total oppisite.
